Villi Shteyn - Pomerantz LLP

Villi Shteyn focuses his practice on securities litigation. Villi has been recognized as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star (2021-2026) and a One to Watch® by Best Lawyers (2026-2027). Villi worked on individual securities lawsuits concerning BP’s 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, which proceeded in In re BP p.l.c. Secs. Litig., No. 4:10-md-2185 (S.D. Tex.) and were resolved in 2021 in a confidential, favorable monetary settlement for all 35 Firm clients, including public and private pension funds, money management firms, partnerships, and investment trusts from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, the Netherlands, and Australia. He also worked on a successful 2021 settlement for investors in a case against the Chinese company ChinaCache.

Villi also pursued claims leading to successful settlements against Deutsche Bank for its lending activities to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, against Arconic, arising from the deadliest U.K. fire in more than a century, against Recro Pharma in relation to their non-opioid pain-relief product IV Meloxicam, and against online education company 2U. Villi also worked on a consumer class action against Apple, Inc. in relation to alleged slowdowns of the iPhone product.

Villi is also involved in the Firm’s class action litigation against Royal Philips, relating to defective breathing devices, and against InMode, relating to aesthetic medical devices. He also represents investors in lawsuits against Alphabet, involving advertising technology practices and against Amazon, involving online marketplace practices.

Prior to joining Pomerantz, Villi was employed by a boutique patent firm, where he worked on patent validity issues in the wake of the landmark Alice decision. During his tenure, he helped develop international patent maintenance tools for clients and assisted in pursuing injunctive relief for a patent-holding client against a large tech company.

Villi graduated from The University of Chicago Law School (J.D., 2017). In 2014, he graduated summa cum laude from Baruch College with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs.
