Partner Murielle Steven Walsh Appointed to Law360’s Securities Editorial Advisory Board
Pomerantz is proud to announce that Partner Murielle Steven Walsh has been selected to join Law360’s newly formed 2022 Securities Editorial Advisory Board. The board will provide Law360 with feedback on its coverage and offer expert insight on how best to shape future coverage of securities litigation, regulation, and enforcement.
As a recognized leader in plaintiffs’ securities litigation, Murielle has successfully prosecuted securities class actions and corporate governance cases. Beyond winning substantial financial recoveries for clients and classes of defrauded investors, she has also secured precedential rulings from courts that have made new law and expanded investor rights.
Murielle currently leads a securities class action against Wynn Resorts arising from its concealment of sexual misconduct by founder and former CEO, Stephen Wynn, against the company’s female employees. She also led the Firm’s ground-breaking litigation that arose from the alleged mass nuisance created by the popular “augmented reality” game Pokémon Go, in which GPS coordinates provided by defendants to gamers included directing the public to private property without the owners’ permission. Murielle was also part of the team litigating EBC I v. Goldman Sachs, where the Firm obtained a landmark ruling from the New York Court of Appeals, that underwriters may owe fiduciary duties to their issuer clients in the context of a firm-commitment underwriting of an initial public offering.
The National Law Journal named Murielle a 2020 Plaintiffs’ Lawyer Trailblazer – an award created to “honor a handful of individuals from each practice area that are truly agents of change.” She was also honored as a 2020 Plaintiffs’ Trailblazer by the New York Law Journal. Murielle was honored in 2019, 2020 and 2021 as a Super Lawyers® “Top-Rated Securities Litigation Attorney.” In 2019 and 2020, she was named a Top Plaintiffs’ Financial Lawyer by Lawdragon.
